I used flash, photoshop, and after effects. i wrote all about it on my devblog.
How can you be independent, and sponsored?
Because i can have as many sponsors as i want, and i am not employed directly by any 1 sponsor, they'd pay me for my services yes. However I don't work for them, as i don't ever have to work with them again if i didn't want to.

Wow! Incredible piece of work.
Only small thing that made me go "Huh?" was how the scratchmarks in the tree disappeared. Still didn't detract from my enjoyment of the piece though.
Now I'm really looking to the new Exile! Any estimated time of arrival?
The choppy frame-by-frame in Play seemed so incredibly out of place with the smooth tweens, and the black lines of the characters seemed to constantly change thickness.
But that's all the animation. I liked the story and characters pretty well.
